-을 테-

💡 This expression originated from '~ㄹ/을 터이다'. The word '터' indicates plans, possibilities, or intentions. Thus, "~ㄹ/을 터이다" means "there is a possibility/intention/plan to do so." It has a similar meaning to the future pre-ending -겠-. The different thing is that, -겠- typically appears with final endings to conclude sentences(like -겠습니다, -겠어요), whereas '-ㄹ/을 테-' is mainly used with connective endings to link sentences together.
Therefore, this is often used in expressions such as -ㄹ/을 테니까, -ㄹ/을 텐데, -을 테고, -을 테지만, -을 테야, -을 테다, -을 테냐? etc. For now, we will only practice the two most commonly used ones (-ㄹ/을 테니까, -ㄹ/을 텐데).
