passive

There are two main ways to make a passive sentence in Korean. One is to use a passive verb, and the other is to use a helping verb that makes it passive.

For example,
문을 열다 I open the door
→ 문이 열리다 The door is opened ( 열리다 is the passive verb of 열다 )
→ 문이 열어지다 The door is opened ( 열다 + helping verb -아/어 지다)

These two methods may have different nuances or can be the same. Or, depending on the verb, you must choose only one method.
