      -으로(direction)

      의자에 앉아요 O

      → Since -으로 indicates directionality, it may be incorrect when used to refer to a specific place.
       
In fact, -으로 carries many different meanings, similar to the English word "as." For now, remembering just this much is sufficient. :) As you continue studying, try to develop a feel for how -으로 is used in different contexts.
